AVn-62 (aged tone) Slightly fatter with increased response 6 K-ohms; Resonance 3.8KHz; Inductance 2.45 H; Medium output. This muscular vintage pickup has more midrange coloration and less treble and bass than AVn-56 and, because it's slightly louder than a stock Strat single coil, and has a bigger tone and more aggression than my '56; it's great for Texas blues. You'll love the rim shot attack and explosive low-note growl factor; but it loses that nasty, jagged ice-pick-in-the-ear character that makes your ears bleed while the bass has an understated classic vintage warmth. It has a very responsive feel. Gives a Maple neck Strat the tonal grunt of a Roseboard. The AVn-62 is extremely responsive, exciting and very much The Ultimate Vintage (neck/middle) Pickup for blues!!
vn-56 (aged tone) Sweet & responsive 5.75 K-ohms; Resonance 4KHz; Inductance 2.19 H; Normal output Classic Authentic Vintage sound with no noise & low string pull. The carefully sculpted twangy mids complement the richly transparent and sweet trebles that retain their cut, without breaking up, even under frenzied conditions. The sweet tone, traditional presence, prominent lows, scooped mids and perfectly balanced dynamic response makes it versatile and ideal for Virtuoso, Rock, Blues, Jazz, Country, Surf or melodic instrumental playing. The AVn-56 captures the essence and beauty of classic vintage sound in its entirety. The special low string-pull magnets result in more sustain, less fret rattle & clutter and negligible 3rd & 6th string warble (Strat-itis). |
